Ray and Jacki join the Lorne Foreshore Caravan Park team as Park Managers in March 2017. Together they have worked in a number of caravan parks across Australia including Rockhampton, Coonoomoo and Mornington Peninsula.
Ray has been working in the hospitality and caravan park industry all his life through various operations and management roles over the years.
Ray has worked as the Regional Manager for Discovery Holiday Parks – Australia’s largest owner and operator of lifestyle holiday parks and oversaw 24 caravan parks along the East Coast of Australia.
Jacki has been in the retail industry for more than 10 years working at a picture framing company in Melbourne designing and selling picture frames before joining Ray to co-manage the Caravan Park on the Murray River.
Ray and Jacki have several years experience in a variety of roles within their industries and have been based in the same place for several years.
“We’re not 5-minute people. We like to stay in the same location and work for the same company for a long time to really get to know the area and people, and really become part of the community,” Ray said.
“It’s really nice to be back among genuine tourists both international and domestic, and help show them the magical part of the world Lorne is,” Jacki said.
The sea change was prompted by Jacki’s love for the ocean and coastal towns, with Ray promising one day to move to the beach.
“We’ve only just arrived in Lorne and already we love the town and the atmosphere and cannot wait to really get to know the place,” she said.
The Lorne and Torquay Foreshore Caravan Parks are managed by the Great Ocean Road Coast Committee. As a not-for-profit, community based organisation, all dollars raised through GORCC’s commercial operations are reinvested back into the caravan parks, coastal reserves, and community.
