Assistant Torquay Foreshore Caravan Park Managers – Wayne and Julie Del Marco
Wayne and Julie join the Torquay Foreshore Caravan Park management team as ongoing Assistant Managers at the busy holiday destination.
Wayne and Julie have spent the past five years managing caravan parks in Forster, including the Happy Halliday’s Caravan Park and Lakeside Resort Forster, in northern New South Wales.
Julie has 30 years experience in the hospitality industry and has held a variety of roles over the years ranging from housekeeping to office duties, park management and more.
Before managing caravan parks, Wayne was the manager at Garden Supplies in Newhaven for 10 years.
Originally from Phillip Island, the couple has moved back to Victoria to be closer to their ever growing family.
“Our children are all having their own children now and are spread out all over Victoria. We just love the area, and this side of Victoria with the beautiful Great Ocean Road coastline,” Julie said.
The couple joined the Great Ocean Road Coast Committee caravan park team in October 2016 in a relief managers role at Torquay before helping the Lorne team over January and February summer season.
They now join the Torquay Foreshore Caravan Park ongoing as the newly appointed assistant managers, a role in which they have been enjoying.
“We love the team, the people and the area. We’re fairly easy going people, and everyone here is welcoming so it’s been a nice move,” Julie said.
The Lorne and Torquay Foreshore Caravan Parks are managed by the Great Ocean Road Coast Committee. As a not-for-profit, community based organisation, all dollars raised through GORCC’s commercial operations are reinvested back into the caravan parks, coastal reserves, and community.
