Community support coast with thousands of plants

The Great Ocean Road Coast Committee works closely with students, community clubs and local volunteer groups to help foster a deeper appreciation and love for our coastal environments.

More than 800 indigenous plants have been planted along the Great Ocean Road in the past month with between 4,000 and 8,000 expected to go in the ground this winter. Read more

New propagation centre thrives

Construction of ANGAIR’s new plant propagation centre at the Anglesea Community Precinct is now complete, with the official opening scheduled for early May.

The environmental volunteer group moved into their new purpose designed and built plant propagation centre after more than 12 years on private properties near Red Rocks and Paraparap. Read more

A Challenge worth running for

The Great Ocean Road Coast Committee is entering a team in the Great Ocean Road Run Fest in May. Our dedicated staff and committee members will compete in the 6km and 14km races to help raise money for Challenge – an organisation that supports children and families with cancer.

We are very proud to support Challenge, who helped our great friend and colleague, Education Leader Hilary Bouma and her family in their hours of need.

Great Ocean Road Coast invests in community projects

Five community and volunteer groups are set to benefit from the annual Great Ocean Road Coast Committee Coastal Grant program with $10,000 going to projects that protect, enhance and increase community connections to the coastal environment.

ANGAIR, Anglesea Motor Yacht Club, Fairhaven Surf Life Saving Club, Jan Juc Coast Action and Torquay Coast Action have all received funding towards their upcoming projects.
