Volunteer Week ft. Students


Students today.  Volunteers tomorrow.  As part of National Volunteer Week (8-14 May 2017) we are celebrating all our wonderful environmental warriors, including the armies of students that care for the coast each term.

More than 470 students have participated in our Environmental Education Program in Term 1 alone, with over 1,400 students experiencing the hands on learning last year. Read more

A Challenge worth running for


The Great Ocean Road Coast Committee is entering a team in the Great Ocean Road Run Fest in May. Our dedicated staff and committee members will compete in the 6km and 14km races to help raise money for Challenge – an organisation that supports children and families with cancer.

We are very proud to support Challenge, who helped our great friend and colleague, Education Leader Hilary Bouma and her family in their hours of need.

Call for caution around coastal cliffs


Authorities are calling for beach visitors to exercise caution after recent cliff collapses at Jan Juc and Aireys Inlet, with undercutting and rainfall making the areas more unstable.

Great Ocean Road Coast Committee Coastal Reserves Manager Caleb Hurrell said this time of year was known for cliff movement due to the fluctuation in soil conditions.

Splitting the difference for great views at Aireys


Your next Great Ocean Road selfie is within arm’s reach at Airey’s Inlet with the completion of the Split Point lookout upgrades.

Two new viewing platforms have been constructed to sensitively complement previous works in the area, catering for increasing numbers of visitors along the Great Ocean Road. Read more

Green Army graduates


The May intake of the Green Army team has graduated after completing six months of environmental conservation work on the Surf Coast.

The Federal Government funded Green Army initiative supports the hands-on environmental training and development of youths aged between 17 and 24. Read more

Wildflower and Art Weekend a success!


The annual ANGAIR Wildflower and Art Weekend was greeted with a glorious spring day to welcome locals and visitors to the event.
